Kirk Park
Kirk Park, located on the south side, was formerly a driving park. The land was a population spot for horse racing, with one of the best half-mile tracks in New York State. Kirkwood Driving Park soon ended after a fire destroyed the grandstand in July of 1902. In 1910, the title of the park was transferred to the City of Syracuse in hopes of improvement under the Syracuse Parks Commission. Today the park features a community center, playground, swimming pool, softball field, athletic field, tennis court, basketball court, and a roller skating area. Features
